Incompatible development. The heavy volume of traffic and 20th century commercial strip development across from the green seriously impact the integrity of the green. This is a classic example of how the automobile has impacted land use and architecture to the extent that 19th and 20th commercial buildings have little, if anything, in common; 20th century commercial buildings built with the automobile in mind do not belong along side important historic resources such as the Bean Hill Green.
