Threats Details:

Because it was established as a park in the nineteenth century and as such does not have an integral relationship with the surrounding streetscapes, the continued evolution of the streetscape from residential to commercial development has little impact on the historic integrity of the park. Additional traffic generated by commercial development will continue to effect the quality of the park. The city, however, appears to be committed to keeping it an attractive amenity in a congested area, and the size of the park provides a certain amount of refuse form the traffic.
