There is no zoning in Bethlehem. Bethlehem Green is suffering from the speed of traffic on Main Street (Route 61). In addition, a portion of the Green fronting the highway is within the State Department of Transportation's right-of-way. Of minor importance but worth noting is unremarkable design of the new town hall/community center. Perhaps its design is an effort to "blend in" with the existing historic buildings, but as it presently exists, it adds nothing to the streetscape.
